Seasoned Jasmine Rice

I came across this jasmine rice recipe a year ago and it is hands down my favorite way of making jasmine rice.  You can follow the directions off the packaging or add these seasons to boost the flavor and aroma from this rice.

I also like using coconut oil for it’s great tropical smell and added flavor it adds to the rice. Its health benefits are up to debate but I like using it more than vegetable oils.

  • 2 Cups
    Jasmine Rice, uncooked
  • 4 Cups
    Chicken Broth or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1
    Bay Leaf
  • 1/8 Teaspoon
    Cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    Cumin, ground
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    Garlic, power
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Coconut Oil
  • Salt, to taste


  1. Heat coconut oil and rest of seasonings (except bay leaf) in a medium pan.

  2. Add rice and stir about 1-2 mins until toasted. You will smell the toasted aroma.

  3. Add broth and bay leaf. Bring to boil and reduce heat to low.

  4. Cover and let simmer for 20 mins or until rice tender and broth has been absorbed.

    Add salt if desired.
