This slow cooker beef and broccoli recipe is better than Chinese take out. If you don't like broccoli, add in carrots, onions, celery, mushrooms, or pea pods.
You can steam the vegetables separately and add into the mixture or add in frozen vegetables at the end.
Combine sliced beef, broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, and garlic in slow-cooker. Mix well and cook for about 5 hours.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water and mix into slow-cooker to thicken up sauce.
Prepare broccoli as desired and add in. Mix well.
Note: If you are using fresh broccoli, cut up into bite size pieces and steam to desired tenderness.
Serve while hot on top of mashed potatoes, rice, or polenta.
