This is an easy meatloaf to make and I love adding stove top stuffing mix to add flavor. Stove top stuffing isn’t just for thanksgiving anymore! Ground turkey tends to be on the bland side so adding the stuffing makes the difference. Buy one package low fat turkey and one that’s has more fat. And…
…Add ketchup to the top for a classic type meatloaf or add BBQ sauce.
You can layer bacon on the bottom to add more flavor but then you are adding more fat into the recipe.
Add sauteed green bell peppers with the onions for extra flavor or put the onions into the food processor and pulse if you don’t like small bits of onions in your meatloaf. Skip the sauteing if you are putting the onions into the food processor. Add chopped mushrooms to make it more moist!
The options are endless…Feel free to alter this recipe to your liking.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Coat oil in a small pan. Heat oil and add diced onions. Saute onions until translucent. Set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, add turkey, stuffing, egg, onions, and milk. Mix well by hand.
Spread meat mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan greased pan. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf in the center.
Spread ketchup on top.
Bake for 50-60 mins or until Internal temp should be 165 degrees F.
Remove from oven, let it sit for 5-10 mins. Slice and enjoy next to mashed potatoes!
