Seasoned Jasmine Rice
I came across this jasmine rice recipe a year ago, and after a few alterations, it is hands down my favorite way of making jasmine rice.  This is so much better than a boxed rice. You will love the smell this rice will make as you are cooking it. Use coconut oil instead of olive oil. Its health benefits are up to debate but I like using it more than vegetable oils or olive oil.

  1. In a large skillet, melt coconut oil at medium heat. Add garlic powder, turmeric, cinnamon, and cumin. Allow to toast for 2 minutes.
  2. Add rice and toast for another 2 minutes. Stir continuously.
  3. Add broth, salt, and bay leaf. Stir.
  4. Allow to come to a rolling boil, reduce heat to low, and cover. Simmer for 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender.
  5. After simmering, allow rice to rest for 5-10 minutes, uncover, and fluff with a fork. Enjoy!
